  Metsatöll tours Europe with Finntroll
29.06.10223

Finntroll, the Metal Marauders of the northern shore of the Baltic Sea, have already killed on a bunch of European summer festivals, and there's just a few left. But for all those who hate the sun, Finntroll have announced an autumn/winter European tour, with buddies Samael of Switzerland, Rotting Christ of Greece, Metsatöll of Estonia and Nothnegal of Maldives on board.

For those surprised at the fact that not all of the acts in the line-up are Pagan Metal, Finntroll's vocalist Vreth had this to say in a recent interview:"Finntroll have never tried to be part of any particular scene, other than the metal scene. To file us simply under Pagan Metal would be totally wrong, because of the numerous influences we have. Finntroll are basically a Black Metal band with influences from wherever we get inspiration." - an attitude that fits perfectly with Samael and Rotting Christ, who share a similar history of breaking rules and still being fucking Metal!

Lasting from November 26th to December 19th, the tour will test the limits of all participants, as the schedule includes no off-days. 9 of the 24 concerts take place in Germany, but Belgium, Holland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy,
Austria, Switzerland, France and Spain will also get their share of the action.

With the tour, Finntroll are supporting their recent, highly acclaimed slab offolk-rooted metal hymns entitled "Nifelvind", available since February 2010. To stream new tracks, watch two new videos for "Solsagan" and "Under Bergets Rot",and view the tour itinerary, check out the band's MySpace.

Metsatöll's singer Markus Teeäär is more than pleased with the collective tour: "We've become friends with the Finntroll guys over the past common gigs, and the cooperation has always been awesome." The drummer Marko Atso adds: "Also, we share their taste in humour, which guarantees that this will become a tour to tell stories to one's grandchildren about."

Unfortunately the tour will not pass Baltics. The nearest chance to see the internationally best selling Estonian artist Metsatöll on stage, though, is already this Saturday, July 3rd, at 10 pm at the Hard Rock Laager festival in Vana-Vigala, Estonia.
